In My Words……

The best person to tell us your story is you, so why not tell us your story in your words?

You can tell us your story and help others who may find themselves in a similar situation by posting your ‘In My Words’ using the story space provided here.

It is very important for your stories to be heard as they can often inspire others. Hearing your personal interpretation can help ensure that the general public have a better understanding of what it is like to be affected by dementia, either as a person living with dementia, as a family carer, as a wider family member or as a friend. Your stories written and posted ‘In My Words’ help other people have empathy with those affected, a better understanding of the many challenges that may be faced, how they can be overcome and also helps to better inform our work with both national and local government departments and the many organisations we liaise with.

Your story is so meaningful and we would like to ask you to take a little time to share it, it will be valued, cherished and could provide a degree of understanding and comfort for somebody in a similar situation to you, while also raising the profile of family carers and people with dementia.

Your story may be used in a number of ways, including on our website, in our literature and on social media. For any additional uses, such as radio, TV or events, we would ALWAYS seek your further consent prior to use.
